Overall a good place to stay in Tokyo

Great location. 20 mins and you are anywhere in the city in any direction will lots of transport options nearby. Very quiet place to stay. Staff friendly. Place overall clean.

Beds are ok comfortable. Toilet area could be cleaned or bins emptied more often as the were constantly over flowing. Room can get very warm and stuffy

Nice place, COOL BAR, lovely staff

Location is good, close to many lines; bed and bathroom are good; I had nice time in bar downstairs, bartender Kana is amazing ️

Floor in room wasn’t that clean, because they don’t provide slippers for guests and everybody were in their dirty shoes

Great location!

The property was in an excellent location. Only 200 meters from the JR station and 2 stops away from Tokyo station which connects you to everywhere you need to go. The staff were really friendly and check in was a breeze. The facilities were cool with a bar and games room. The nights we stayed there guests were respectful and followed rules for being quiet in the dorms after a certain hour. The toilets and shower areas were clean however the bathroom area wasn’t as clean as other places I’ve been to but I guess it’s hard to monitor shared spaces also so no real big deal there. Overall great location and would recommend staying here. Great value for Tokyo!

The mattress in the capsule was really thin and not so comfortable ... if that’s not a major issue for you I would go ahead and book. I would def stay here again for a quick stopover.

Nice stay.

The price is good as to the place. It is a cool restaurant at ground floor and hidden bar underground. It was surprising me of the common area underground. Also guest can be using the space of the restaurant, so it is good to sit and read a book or work while sipping something. Bed was clean but has to make bed myself. Shower and toilet are clean as well though you may have to rent a kit and towel but it is not much budget.

It provides only small locker that can keep only a medium size backpack and for other large luggage shall be place around the room among other guests'. However i did not lose anything just feel nervous when leaving outside.

The staff was great but they only had one cook and one bartender. So when those members were off work the place lacked in quality.

Its one of the best locations you can find. Only 3-4min walk to the nearest railway stations where you can take the JR airport train with no transfers. Also, you can walk to akihabara for only 20min.

There was just one night when they put a guy who snored loudly the whole night in the capsule next to me and I didnt get much sleep that night at all.

10/10 Would stay again!

The staff was very friendly! Very helpful as well! The hotel is close to the train station and convenience stores like 7/11. The private room was clean and checking in and out was simple and easy with no hassle. Would definitely stay here again. This place is perfect for couples and singles as they have private rooms and mixed capsule like rooms

Very pleasant for the price

Room is big with everything you need inside. USB plugs and possibility to clean your clothes for free! They send you an email when the room is ready, for me it was before 4p.m

No one at the welcome desk sometimes but it depends because the hotel is well designed for 100%electronic check-in./out

Good affordable stay

Great staff Good location with fast connection to city centre and suburbs. Great bathroom and toilet area

Noise at the shared rooms. Very hot inside the bunk bed. Only Japanese breakfast option, had to pay additional for a cup of coffee.

Fantastic

The staff speak excellent English and are very friendly & helpful. There was a slight issue with our room upon arrival, but they accommodated us with a smile and the remainder of our stay was wonderful. Simple yet yummy breakfast. Didn’t try their lunch or dinner, but it smelled delicious. Highly recommend staying here if you’re in Tokyo! :)

Not a lot of space for luggage in the room, but it’s not too much of an issue.

Will return again when I visit Tokyo!

Kikka is easy to find. I can reach it from one of the nearest stations (Bakurocho St.) in 3-4 minutes of walking, which made my mobility easier during my stay there. The staffs are friendly and eager to help. They can speak English, Spanish, and Indonesian, which make them easy to talk to. The private room is spacious for 2 with the street view and sunshine during day time. Clean private bathroom completed the room. I love the Onigiri for breakfast. They also have various menus in their cafe and bar for me to enjoy. I would gladly return to this hostel.

Cool place to stay for a cheap price in Tokyo :)

The staff is really friendly and helpfull. The breakfast is nice :) and for a hostel is ok, you have all the things you pay for. Unfortunately during our staff there were some water supply problems. Despite this issue we continue with our booking, because the staff was really helpfull and provided us with convenient solutions.

The dorms could be slighty more cleaner.

Friendly Staffs but Space Issue for Dorm

The location is accessible to various train stations (10-15 mins walking). Friendly staffs. Big common area. There was hot water issue at the establishment during our stay but we were being notified in advance to change our booking. We were offered to take shower at a nearby hostel and this kept the reservation. Received a discount for our stay as compensation. Overall we were happy with how the hostel had handled the issue.

Major space issue. I felt the dorm was super cramp with no space to put backpack. Let alone big suitcases. But was given options to store it downstairs with the reception. There were too many “long stay” guests it seemed with so many ‘things’, clothes along the window side. All available space was literally taken up with no space for new guests at all. Having backpack put at around the bed would then block walking since the space between opposite is limited. There was small locker but only works for small day pack. It’s quite sad because the window side beds was quite nice and other aspects of this hostel was great too.

Comfortable and clean cubicles for a short stay

Clean premises and friendly staff. The capsules are comfortable and all the amenities are available and easy to use.

Unfortunately there was a quite strong sewer smell coming from the street and getting into the first floor where the common dormitory was. Not the fault of the hostel nor a huge deal breaker but it was an inconvenience and did impact our sleep.

Great!

The location is great, really close to transit. The staff were very helpful, some didn’t speak or understand much English but still tried to help despite that and we very much appreciated that as I couldn’t speak much Japanese either unfortunately. I liked the bar area - despite that I don’t drink, there were games and things my partner and I played while down there relaxing. Our A/C in our room didn’t work the first night, and the staff were determined to make it work or get us a new room (they got it fixed, and really quickly too). Really great. The bar room/common room is fairly nosy when the actual bar is open but you can’t hear any of that from the rooms.

Our bathroom smelled like cat urine, it was odd, not sure if whomever stayed there before us had a cat, but it was awful smelling. The blanket on our bed wasn’t big enough for two people, it was probably a twin blanket on a double bed - but we made it work. The shower sprayed everywhere, I don’t think that kind of shower head was designed for that type of bathtub as it overshot the bathtub.

Hostel Kikka is a overall good value for money accommodation with friendly staff.

The staff was really friendly and helpful. I like the fact that there was shampoo, conditioner, and body wash available for free in the shower and the bathroom facilities had really good cleaning standards. It was convenient to have a socket inside the bed unit and a little shelf. I also liked the modern look and cozy feeling of the bar/reception with lots of glass walls that allows you to look out in the street and to get more natural light in.

Although the structure was overall very clean, for some reason my bed unit was dusty (blankets were clean). I slept in a bunk bed. They are sort of wooden boxes and you only have an aperture at the front to get inside, so I guess the way is designed could be partly responsible for the issue. However, it wasn't pleasant given my mild allergy to dust and the sinusitis that started during my time there that could have been triggered by prolonged exposure to dust. Future travelers might also appreciate a fridge in the common area as it is not currently available.
